Five Master Edits

Contrast:
For the contrast edit Kaelyn and I decided to create two different shots of a student with on showing the student hard at work and the other showing the student sleeping in class. The student hard at work is supposed to represent the typical image set for freshmen in high school. Whereas the student sleeping is supposed to represent the typical image of seniors in high school.
Symbolism:
For the symbolism edit we decided to take a shot of a book and transition to the Collier County Public Schools emblem (which contains a book) to symbolize the education that takes place in Collier County schools.
Leit Motiff:
For the leit motif edit we used a particular song (of Kaelyn's choice to clarify) to clue the audience in to the dance that was going to occur every time that given song is played.
Parallelism:
Our parallelism shot begins with a shot of a person walking with white shoes. The shot then transitions to another pair of white shoes that look identical to the first in an attempt to trick the audience into believing that the two shots are the same person. However, at the end of the shot one pair of white shoes walks up to an almost identical pair, revealing to the audience that there were two pairs of shoes.
Simultaneity:
The edit we compiled to show simultaneity begins with a conversation between to girls that is seemingly random. The shot then transitions to two boys playing games on their phones, then back to the girls' conversation. The final shot for this edit shows the two boys seemingly asleep, which is meant to help the audience assume that the boys were waiting on the girls.

Comments

  1. Great job on your five master shots! I particularly liked your symbolism clip because it portrayed a meaningful purpose. It is such a simple shot, just being a book and computer screen, but it depicts a much larger picture- that technology is evolving. I also thought your parallelism clip was creative because of the similar shoes walking in the same direction towards each other from opposite sides.
